What to expect during your appointment
During your initial appointment in the comfort of your own home, I will ask you questions relating to your general and medical health, lifestyle and diet. You may be asked to complete a bladder/bowel diary or health questionnaire(s) to assess how your problems affect your day-to-day life.
Following this, a physical examination will allow me to assess your posture, abdominal muscles, joint range of movement and strength. I will also assess for any signs of hypermobility (also known as connective tissue disorder).
Once your symptoms or diagnosis has been determined, I will work with you and your parents to develop a treatment program.
The length of your treatments and number of follow up appointments required is dependent upon many factors, including how chronic your problems is, your lifestyle and personal circumstances and how committed you are to your physiotherapy plan.
